Wilson and down to Sierra Madre. Join me for this "first ever for me" adventure. COST: $150 HIDDEN FALLS OVERNIGHT.............................................................................JUNE 15-17 Meet at Bass Lake for Jazz on the Waterfront - Saturday hike in Yosemite Valley to two of my favorite spots, Hidden Falls & Devil's Bathtub. A backpack that will take us along the shores of Htech Hetchy, past Wapama & Rancheria Falls, then up the Til Til Valley to Lake Vernon. Whoopee! COST: $400 HALF DOME IN ONE DAY...................................................................................JUNE 28-30 After an early night in Oakhurst, we'll assault Half Dome's summit from Glacier Point at day break. Sunset will hopefully find us showering in Camp Curry. (Dinner & lodging in Yosemite Valley on Friday are No Host) COST: $35 WASHINGTON STATE ADVENTURE #2..............................................................JULY 22-28 Come to Yakima and stay with Sonny & Linda and other friendly homes. Options include hiking in the Cascades, overnight Backpack, car touring Mt. Rainier & Mt. St. Helens including Ape Cave, Snoqualmie Falls, two days in Seattle & more... COST: $230 (Children 12 & under $140) CAR CAMPING EXCURSION IN THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS........................AUGUST 24-SEPT 1 Our 5th "Go Outside" invasion of these incredible islands: San Juan, Orcas, Lopez & Fidalgo.. The ride on the Washington State Ferries alone is worth the trip. Lighthouses, whales, quaint villages...options include bicycling, mopeding, beach-combing, fascinating history, beautious campgrounds, great food - Come! Beautiful hikes & lots of lessons from the book of nature! COST: $150 ARIZONA HIGHWAYS.............................................................................................MAY 2-4 A ten day car camping trip exploring some of Arizona's amazing attractions - Cliff Dwellings, Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, The Petrified Forest, Oak Creek Canyon, Unique Southwestern towns, my uncle's Presbyterian Mission to the Navajo Indians at Ganado, and of course: the Highlights of Globe with our dear friends Dr. Thea Wilshire and Mary Krank, including the best Mexican food I've ever eaten! COST: $600 THE WATERFALLS OF YOSEMITE.......................................................................JUNE 18-22 St. Francis spoke to the waterfall this way: "Thou flowing water, pure and clear, make music for they Lord to hear!" One of our most popular trips returns - a car camping trip that enables us to see Yosemite's waterfalls at their fullest - some widely known, others obscure. Short hikes required to see some. In addition to Sonny's great meals, we'll have a breakfast at the world famous Ahwahnee Hotel. COST: $250 CANOE THE SAINT JOE RIVER IN IDAHO.............................................................JULY 6-12 After several requests to repeat this outing, we're going for it. 5 days on a tranquil mountain waterway surrounded by pristine beauty, and we conclude the week by arriving at Lake Coeur 'd Alene. Canoes provided unless you want to bring your own. Our tents will travel in a van along with the cooking gear and luggage. COST: $460 THE BRITISH COLUMBIA ADVENTURE..........................................................AUGUST 10-17 A week of car camping in this Northwest Paradise will feature awesome mountain destinations as well as much time on the Pacific shore. Small towns, big towns, and the one of a kind city of Victoria on Vancouver Island. Options will include hiking, fishing, swimming, canoeing, summer chair lift rides and your requests! COST: $400 (Children 12 & under $120) HALF DOME CELEBRATION.................................................................................OCTOBER 4 Lord willing and weather holding, Sonny will make his 80th scent this day. He would love some company for this one day climb. Overnight Oct 3rd included. COST: $25 CALIFORNIA GOLD - HIGHWAY 49 AGAIN....................................................OCTOBER 5-11 Our 3rd time to travel Highway 49 from one end to the other, visiting dozens of charming old gold rush towns. NO CAMPING REQUIRED. Indoor lodging is included every night. Personal Vehicle Fuel not included. Abe Underwood will again serve as our winsome traveling historian. Come if you can - this is a winner!
