Announcing a new CD of Sonny's Children's Songs…

"How's About a Boa?" Camp Songs for Kids of All Ages

The Blue Grass and Folk Musicians who play, the winsome children who join me singing, and Michael Gayle who arranged my songs and engineered the entire project have all blown me away. They are all just fabulous. My brother Ron, himself a great musician, says that this is the finest recording that has ever been done of my music.

And then I was blown away even more to learn that this CD is going to be submitted for consideration for a 2007 Grammy in the Children's Music category. I'm told my friends could play a big part in making this more of a possibility. That, I hope, is where you come in. First, here's the time line.

  1. Within the next few months, Remba Records, who produced "How's About A Boa?", will submit it to the Recording Academy. They will determine if it is worthy of consideration, then send a copy of the CD to each voting member.
  2. The members will vote by October 1st.
  3. The six CDs in each category, i.e. "Best Children's Music CD" will then be designated as the official Grammy Nominations.
  4. The 2007 Grammys will take place in February, 2008.

How can you help, you ask? By helping create "Buzz," as they say. This would take only a few minutes, but I guess it can have a huge effect on the Academy in making their determination. The bigger the Buzz, the better the chance! So, here's what I'd like to ask:

  1. 1. Log onto Amazon.com
  2. 2. Respond with a "Review" (brief comment) on the "Boa" CD
  3. 3. If possible, buy a CD on Amazon
  4. 4. Encourage anyone else you can to do the same

That's it. Thanks for your time!
